Rana Abdel Malak

Dr. Rana Abdel Malak, has a long standing experience in clinical and executive leadership in acute care. She held different roles increasing in complexity, lately as chief nursing executive, academic faculty, consultant and appraiser in areas of leadership, management, and continuing education. She is a Ph.D. holder from the University of Texas, is American Board certified as nurse executive advanced level, and a fellow in the American Academy of Project Management. Since 2011, she has undertaken many successful healthcare consulting projects in the Middle East and is an acknowledged international appraiser with the American Nurses Center Credentialing Center-The credentialing arm of the American Nurses Association. Recipient of many awards namely the Buie Presidential Scholarship for Doctoral Studies. Featured as a speaker in various national and international conferences.

Her areas of expertise include organizational change management, quality and accreditation, leadership and management capacity building, system development, and human resources and workforce management. She has a particular passion for leadership development with a positive track record as a leadership and management coach. She also possesses a diversified portfolio in program and course development relevant to healthcare such as quality improvement, leadership, management, nursing informatics, service excellence and patient experience, and clinical education.

From a healthcare accreditation standpoint, Dr. Abdel Malak has a comprehensive in depth operational experience in numerous accreditation endeavors in multisite acute care settings including Joint Commission International Accreditation, American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Designation and Accreditation of continuing education provider, Planetree Person Centered Care Designation, and other healthcare accreditation systems applicable in the Middle East region.
